Please Support House Bill 76 for Prosthetic Parity!

People living with limb loss face arbitrary insurance caps and limitations on medically necessary prosthetic devices from private insurance companies. For example, DME coverage limitations have included wording such as "one per lifetime", "$2500/ a year limits", "50% co-pays". For those faced with the tragedy of limb loss, the understanding that they do not have adequate medical coverage for a highly necessary device is overwhelming. Legislation is the only way to provide coverage on par with minimum federal requirements such as Medicare. Already 19 States have passed Prosthetic Parity laws and those states have reported decreases in expenses incurred due to secondary complications related to sedentary lifestyles by those without limbs. With proper insurance coverage and todays technology, people with limb loss are able to restore their independence and reenter the work place to contribute to the economy of the state. Arms and Legs are NOT a Luxury!
